Devario malabaricus

Devario malabaricus Jerdon 1849
Common Name:Malabar Danio
Scientific Name:Devario malabaricus
Origin:West coast of India and in Sri Lanka
Size:Grows to around 10cm.
Comments:At one time, was thought to be a synonym of Devario aequipinnatus. Often difficult to distinguish between the two species as the markings vary somewhat. An active fish that like most Danionins is a good jumper. Eggs are said to be slightly orange in colour and slightly adhesive. Voracious egg eater!
