Danio jaintianensis Sen 2007
Scientific Name:Danio jaintianensis
Origin:The Rangriang Jowai. Jaintia Hills District Meglahaya
Size:up to 65mm S.L.
Comments:This species was originally (incorrectly) named as Brachydanio jaitianensis. It has two pairs of well-defined barbels and is noted for the brilliant orange / gold stripe along its flanks. In breeding condition, the males are predominantly red. It is a cool water species and should be kept at less than 23°C. It is a species that I find very difficult to keep! This species has only limited availability and is always expensive! It was first bred by Hans Georg Evers.
